History
of Lenape Forged Products, Corp.
Once known as Lenape
Hydraulic Pressing and Forging Company, the family-owned business now
known as Lenape Forged Products, Corp. has grown and evolved over many decades.
We have
embraced new technology with enthusiasm as only cutting-edge equipment
can accommodate our demand for the high-precision machinery that meets
our stringent standards. And while our metamorphosis has been
astounding, one thing has never changed: our reputation for high quality forgings.
Look
at our progress:
-
The
very beginning ~ we developed our most famous product, the Lenape
Long Weld Neck. This classic pressure vessel connection is still
unsurpassed in the industry.
-
While
a large part of Lenape's market was in parts for power generation
equipment, we rapidly became a leader in developing reinforced
branch connections for piping and pressure vessels.
-
The
60's brought major expansion and an additional 13,440 square feet
were added to the plant along with new high-capacity equipment.
-
In
1965 we merged with Gulf+Western Manufacturing Company in order to
improve our methods of operation and meet the needs of a rapidly
growing market.
-
The
70's and 80's were spent honing our techniques in order to increase
productivity while lowering production costs, a wise move that
instantly expanded our client base and reinforced our reputation for
being ahead of our time.
-
In
a phenomenal move in 1983, a group of Lenape's managers instituted a
buyout program from Gulf+Western and brought local control back to
the company.
-
The
90's brought computerization to Lenape Forged Products, Corp.. With new
microprocessor controls added to our equipment and the latest high
technology machining equipment at our fingertips, we have been able
to enhance our performance beyond our client's greatest
expectations.
